***Database Administrator / Senior Database Administrator
Major Responsibilities:
Team management responsible for all assigned database administration and designs;
Establishes performance tuning criteria and methods;
Reviews database performance statistics and directs improvement;
Maintains relationship with database management system vendor and implements upgrades;
Support development of database standards and best practices;
Mentor new members.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
3+ or 5+ years of related experience;
Thorough knowledge of relational database systems and SQL, working knowledge of referenctial integrity;
Expertise in at least one DBMS and OS as described under skills, and at least a basic knowledge of others.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
Database administration skills in one or more of the following databases are required:
Oracle (9i, 10g, RAC, Dataguard, OEM, Replication)
DB2/UDB
Microsoft SQL Server
Sybase
Database development skills in the above areas will be considered at appropriate job levels.
Knowledge of operating system administration and scripting languages in one or more of the following operating systems is required:
IBM/AIX
Sun/Solaris
Microsoft/Windows
Linux
Understanding of third party tools used in database support such as Quest performance management tools, Autosys scheduling system, and SQL Backtrack for backing up databases would be a plus.
Understanding of data modeling concepts, and knowledge of data modeling tools such as CA/Erwin is a plus at more junior levels, desired at more senior levels.
